Services

JED Signs builds five kinds of work out of Greensboro: business monument signs, subdivision entrance signs, church and school signs, LED message displays, and repairs on signs that are already standing. Each one has its own page with the details. This page is the short version, so you can tell which one fits the spot in front of your building or at the mouth of your neighborhood.

What we build

Business monument signs are the low ground signs you see along Wendover Avenue and in office parks: a brick, stone or aluminum base with your name on a cabinet or routed panel. Entrance signs are the same idea built for a subdivision or HOA, usually a wall or a pair of piers at the street. Church and school signs add a changeable message area, either letters you swap by hand or an LED board. LED signs put a programmable display into a monument base so the message changes from a laptop or phone.

Repair covers the rest: a base that has started to lean, a cracked face, lighting that quit, faded paint, or an old HOA wall that needs new lettering. A lot of signs around Guilford County can be fixed without starting over, and we say plainly when they can and when they cannot. If yours is in that shape, the repair side of the shop explains what we check first.

Materials we work with

Most of what we build sits on one of three bases. Brick matches a lot of the commercial buildings and neighborhoods around Greensboro and is the common pick for entrance walls. Natural or cultured stone gives a heavier look for churches, medical offices and newer subdivisions. Aluminum post-and-panel or aluminum cabinet signs go up faster and suit offices and retail that want a clean, modern face.

Under all of them is the part nobody sees. Piedmont red clay holds water and moves with the seasons, so the footing has to go deep enough and drain well or the base will crack and lean a few years in. We size the footing to the sign and the soil, not to a stock number. Faces can be routed aluminum, push-through acrylic, dimensional letters or a lit cabinet, and lighting can be internal LED modules or ground-mounted floodlights.

Not sure which you need?

That is a normal place to start. Send the form with a rough idea of the size and whether you want it lit, and text a photo of where the sign will go to 336-579-0766. Every sign is quoted by size, materials and lighting, with a drawing and the price in writing before any digging starts. If you are outside Greensboro, check the towns we drive out to first; most of Guilford County and the nearby Triad towns are on it.
